The Phantom enters at 27 minutes into the show and has (according to Dale Kristien) 27 minutes of stage time.
Coincidence… or HIDDEN PLOT!?!?!??

:P
This is no coincidence my friend. The connection is quite obvious. 27 also happens to be the exact number of candles in the Phantoms lair. Now, as we all know, numbers play a big role in the genius of the hidden plot. Besides 27, as you have pointed out, the other important number is the number 5 (box 5, the Phantom’s lair lies 5 stories beneath the opera populaire, etc.)
Now what number do we get when we add 27 and 5?
32
Yes my friends. 32. The very age of Gerrard Butler when he masterfully portrayed the role of the Phantom. And it doesn’t end there! In fact, half of 32 is 16, the age of Emmy Rossum when she expertly sang the role of Christine.
But why divide in half? The answer is quite simple. The number two is the very thread that weaves together the souls of the Phantom (King) and Christine (Queen). There are two deaths in the film, two journies to the Phantoms lair (The Kingdom of Music), there are two unmaskings, and most importantly, It takes two of them together to complete their eternal love.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE. When Gustave comes into the picture in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s brilliant Love Never Dies, the forces of the number two are suddenly shifted into the number 3.
as you see, we have come full circle.
